We are backing the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS to win the Super Bowl. Where do I even begin here. How about the world loving the Giants and the Giants feeding into their own hype? I will tell you right now that I had the Pats -12 in the prior Super Bowl when these two meet. So the big-bad Giants scored that improbable upset ruining the NE run to a perfect season. That was after they battled to the bitter end in a Meadowlands loss. So this year the Giants promptly waltz down the field while playing in Foxborough and score another upset, late game victory.

I find it amusing that I hear how the Pats shouldn't even have won that game over Baltimore. Really. Did you miss 2 SF special teams turnovers? I mean, how about we play the 'what if' game about those plays. The Giants were really marching up and down the field there weren't they?

So we have the Giants winning at home over the Falcons. Like they did over Dallas the week before, they made several key stops to really swing momentum and the game. They then head to Green Bay and lay an ass kicking on the defending Super Bowl Champs. Then they escape with a victory in SF.

The Pats rolled Denver. You know what. They should have. That is what a great teams do. They demolish teams they are suppose to. I don't want to hear the whole argument of 'well who did NE beat. They shouldn't have even beaten the Ravens.'

Neither defense has been special this year. I will give the Giants there due as they have played well coming on late in the season. For me, the key to a Patriots win is pretty simple. They know the Giants can generate a pass rush. They know they must get some quick slants to exploit the LBs. Gronk is banged up. But I find it impossible that he doesn't play. Even at 50-80% he can still catch a ball. He just won't be able to get space for large gains. Hernandez and Welker are also pretty decent. That is the game plan plain and simple. Limit the hits on Brady, give him time to hit those guys.

Final thoughts here. I like Brady and Belichick over Eli and Coughlin. Not that I solely like the revenge angle here. But it is a huge one. They talk about the how this is 2007 all over again for the Giants. Well how about it could be 2007 for the Pats except they are the Giants. The line doesn't reflect it, but all I hear is how the Giants pass rush, and JPP and you can't spell elite without Eli blah, blah, blah. Well this year, the Pats lost at home. The Pats have that loss, plus the Super Bowl loss in their minds. Both teams needed help in their Championships game to get here. Belichick will again have 2 weeks to get ready for this game. Going UNDER the total here. I was looking at this total since it game out. I thought we could grab another half-point. But we actually lost it instead. Not going to wait any longer. I know everyone is expecting Eli to torch the Pats secondary and JPP to force Brady into some mistakes. I know people expect Brady to be foaming at the mouth to get the taste of 2007 out of his system. All great story-lines. We will stick to simple facts here. Both QBs are very good. The Giants defense has been playing well. The Pats defense though not as flashy as the G-Men, also has been playing well. Both teams have made the plays they need to make. We do have the Patriots winning this thing. I think we are looking at a total ending up in the mid to high 40s. 5* UNDER Giants/Patriots
